Daylight & Trapped measurements | How to measure | Installation overview
Southeast provides a wide variety of slat profiles to compliment its roll up shutter systems.
DAYLIGHT OPENING MEASURE
Is the measurement of the opening size for both WIDTH and HEIGHT.
TRAPPED MEASURE
Is the exact size you need your shutter made. There is no space for any overlap of the shutter.
Installation Overview
  1. Attach shutter sill angle or tube to the wall.
  2. Slide tracks onto end caps and stand the shutter housing and tracks centering the back hood assembly directly over the opening to be covered. Secure tracks with screws make sure that the tracks are straight. Also secure the end caps and housing to the wall with screws for additional support. If shutter unit is crank operated from inside, mark and drill ¾” thru hole in the wall before securing the shutter unit to the wall.
  3. Insert the universal through the wall into the gear, cut shaft if necessary. Mount the universal to the interior wall. Outside gear applications do not need to be drilled through the wall, outside gear attaches to the hood..
  4. Lift the roll of slats over reel and down into tracks making sure bottom slat with felt insert goes in first. The slats should now be stacked on top of each other and have a minimum of 2 slats above the height of the track.
  5. Slide spring straps or hangers into the top slat and secure them to the reel. Make sure the spring straps or hangers come from behind the reel over the top. Equally space the spring straps or hangers along the reel before securing. If top slat is drilled for direct mount to the reel, spring straps or hangers are not needed. When attaching slat or hangers to the reel with a motorized unit, remember that any screws on the motor side must be shorter so that they do not hit and damage the motor.
  6. Install hood to front of shutters using stainless steel screws.
